Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving 2009. Terri and I have so much to be thankful for. First, I am thankful for the kindness and love that the Heavenly Father has shown us by sending His one and only son to brutally die on the cross so we can have the forgiveness of sins and eternal life. Second, I am so thankful that God has granted us Caleb Jonathan. I pray that God watches over and guides his care givers actions and words until the day we become one. Thirdly, I am thankful for friends and family. Without your prayer, love, and support, it would be much harder to deal with the fact that CJ is spending Thanksgiving without us. May God bless each of you today and everyday. Have a wonderful day.

Welcome to the Bastian Family Blog

Hi everyone. Welcome to our family blog and adoption update. Here you will learn about our family and the adoption of our son, Caleb Jonathan.

Our journey takes us all the way back to the mid 90s when we found out that it would be very difficult for us to have children. After careful consideration, we decided to check into international adoption. The mountain of paperwork got the best of me and I gave up without finishing the starter packet. We (I) decided to go a different direction. With a stroke of luck and by the grace of God, we have been blessed with 2 beautiful children over the last 9 years. This past November, I felt God nudge me to open our minds to adoption again. After prayerfully considering our options, we decided to dive ahead. Not soon after learning about the options, we pushed through the paperwork and officially got our LID in June 2008. After feeling called to enter the Children of Promise program, we received word from Bethany that we were blessed with the addition of our latest family member, Wu Lang (Caleb Jonathon Bastian). We received our LOI in Oct 2008 and our PA in Nov 2008. We are anxiously waiting for our LOA and TA so we can pickup our precious bundle of joy. We look forward to sharing our journey with you.
